Honest advice for a future-proof home

The energy market is changing rapidly and questions from homeowners are increasing. What is truly wise: insulation, installing a heat pump, or investing in a home battery? During the Energy Café hosted by one of our partners, Nagel Electro, the barriers are removed. No sales pitches with unrealistic figures, but an integrated and honest story about how to truly gain control over the energy bill.

Insight as a foundation: Insulation and technology

Greening starts at the basics. During the well-attended evenings of the Energy Café, an independent energy coach dives into the numbers with visitors. The route to an energy-independent house follows a logical order: Saving, Generating, Directing, and Storing.

It starts with the 'shell' of the home. Think of high-quality insulation and MVHR systems. Only once the foundation is solid do the technical solutions from Nagel Electro come into play. The goal is simple: giving the resident back control over their own consumption.

Smart techniques: From generation to management

Solar panels are now the standard, but the real gain today lies in smart control. With home automation solutions, surplus solar power can be used immediately where it is needed. Consider:

  • Smart boilers: heat your water with the surplus from your installation.

  • Dynamic charging: charging stations that charge the car based on what is being generated at that moment.

  • Energy management: systems that let solar panels, charging stations, and storage work together as one smart ecosystem.

The role of the home battery

A much-discussed topic during the Energy Café is the home battery. Especially with the phasing out of net metering schemes and current feed-in costs, a modular battery is becoming increasingly interesting.

A practical calculation example: An average family directly uses only 30% of their own generated power. The remaining 70% is fed back into the grid. By adding smart control and a battery, this self-consumption rises to as much as 70% to 80%. Instead of buying 2,450 kWh, this family only needs to purchase 875 kWh. This not only lowers the energy bill but also avoids a large portion of the extra feed-in costs.

Future-proof without a crystal ball

No one knows exactly what the energy market will look like in three years. That is why Nagel Electro chooses a realistic approach. "We don't throw around guarantees about payback periods that we cannot fulfill," is the motto. "We offer honest predictions based on today's technology."

The systems presented are modular. This means an installation can grow with the customer's needs and budget. Whether it's V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) or bi-directional charging; the focus is on solutions that keep the home profitable now and in the future.

Partners in positive energy: Nagel Electro & ESTG

The honest story of the Energie Café stands or falls with the quality of the materials. To fulfill that promise, Nagel Electro works closely with ESTG. We fully identify with their vision: making the energy transition accessible and transparent.

Through our collaboration, Nagel Electro has direct access to the latest techniques in solar, storage, and charging solutions from A-brands. Together, we ensure that the barrier for the end customer is not just removed but replaced by a solid foundation for the future.
