  20. How does the Sigenergy Installer Program work?

1. How can I connect my existing solar panels to a Sigenergy system?

Sigenergy systems are designed to work seamlessly with both new and existing PV installations. Unlike other brands that often require separate inverters or complex connections, Sigenergy uses a single integrated hybrid inverter. This ensures the battery and solar panels work perfectly together. You can choose DC-coupling, which connects directly to the MPPT inputs of the inverter, or AC-coupling via a smart meter or gateway alongside your existing PV installation. AC-coupling allows the system to remain active even during back-up or off-grid use.

2. What is the maximum capacity of the SigenStor 5-in-1 Home ESS?

Each battery module is available in 6 or 9 kWh. A single tower can accommodate up to six modules, totaling 36 or 54 kWh. For larger systems, multiple towers can be cascaded to further increase capacity. If your installation requires more than 54 kWh, the SigenStack (C&I) is the suitable solution.

3. How does bidirectional charging (V2X) work with Sigenergy?

Sigenergy includes an integrated bidirectional DC charger, allowing your electric vehicle to become part of your home energy ecosystem. This setup lets you charge your EV using excess solar power, discharge energy to meet household demand or during peak energy prices, and use your vehicle as an emergency power source during outages. In the future, depending on the vehicle and regulations, the system may also feed energy back to the grid (V2G).

4. Which Sigenergy inverter is suitable for a small home?

For small homes and apartments, you can start with a hybrid inverter without a battery, which allows you to add a battery later. If you prefer a fully integrated solution, the SigenStor is available from 3 kW for single-phase and 5 kW for three-phase installations.

5. Which Sigenergy inverter is suitable for commercial roofs or offices?

The SigenStor is primarily designed for homes and small business applications, up to around 54 kWh per tower. For larger roofs or office buildings, multiple towers can be connected in cascade. For installations above 54 kWh or with power between 50 and 125 kW, the SigenStack provides the optimal solution. Sigenergy’s SolarIF declaration ensures that systems above 20 kWh can be safely installed on or against buildings.

6. Can I connect multiple SigenStor systems for larger projects?

Yes. Multiple SigenStor towers can be cascaded to increase both storage capacity and power output. This ensures the solution remains scalable up to small commercial applications. For large-scale industrial projects with MWh capacities, the SigenStack is recommended.

7. How easy is installation for an installer?

The SigenStor is designed with ease of installation in mind. The battery modules are stackable and plug-and-play, reducing extra cabling. Since the inverter, battery, EV charger, EMS, and backup are all integrated into one system, installation can be up to 30% faster compared to separate components.

8. Are Sigenergy systems compatible with smart meters and EMS?

The SigenStor supports open protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU and can connect to various EMS platforms. Smart meters are typically connected via the Sigenergy Smart Meter or an external kWh meter. Sigenergy actively supports new integrations to ensure optimal energy management.

9. How can I use my battery optimally?

The Sigenergy app allows you to take full control of your battery. You can set dynamic tariffs, create scenarios like charging the EV first or supplying household energy first, and use surplus PV energy for storage or EV charging. The system offers real-time monitoring and automatic optimization, ensuring efficient use of available energy.

10. What are the benefits of Sigenergy’s modular LFP design?

The modular LFP design guarantees a long life of up to 6,000 cycles, thermal stability, and maximum safety. Modules of 6 or 9 kWh can be stacked up to six per tower. Active cooling and high charge/discharge currents ensure optimal performance under various conditions. Claims regarding 48 modules only apply to the SigenStack.

11. Under which conditions does the battery perform best?

The SigenStor operates optimally in a temperature range from -20°C to +55°C. Built-in heating ensures performance at low temperatures, while active cooling maintains efficiency at high temperatures.

12. How much maintenance is required?

Maintenance is minimal. Cloud updates (OTA) happen automatically, and the integrated cooling extends battery life. Installers rarely need to return for service.

13. Can I use Sigenergy with older PV installations?

Yes. Using AC-coupling, the SigenStor can be installed alongside an existing inverter. Your current PV system continues to operate while adding battery storage. Later upgrades to a fully integrated hybrid solution are also possible.

14. Can the Sigenergy EV charger prioritize solar energy?

Yes. The integrated DC EV charger can be set to use only surplus PV energy, allowing you to drive entirely on self-generated solar power.

15. Is Sigenergy suitable for industrial applications?

The SigenStor is mainly intended for homes and small commercial projects. For industrial applications with high power and MWh capacity, the SigenStack is the appropriate platform.

16. How does cloud and app monitoring work?

The Sigenergy app provides real-time data, analytics, scenario configuration, and priority management. OTA updates ensure the system stays up-to-date, and separate dashboards are available for end-users and installers.

17. Are there subsidies or incentives for Sigenergy in the Netherlands?

For commercial projects, Sigenergy systems may qualify for EIA, MIA, or KIA incentives depending on the situation. For residential applications, options include the National Heat Fund and other green financing programs.

18. How can I plan future expansions?

You can easily add extra battery modules, up to six per tower. Multiple towers can be connected in parallel or cascade. Within the same platform, you can also add an EV charger without purchasing an entirely new system.

19. AC or DC charger: which should I choose with Sigenergy?

A DC charger integrated into the SigenStor is faster, more efficient, and V2X-ready, making it ideal for new installations. An AC charger provides flexibility and is suitable for existing homes or retrofit projects. Both chargers work seamlessly within the Sigenergy ecosystem.

20. How does the Sigenergy Installer Program work?

The Sigenergy Installer Program is designed to support installers working with Sigenergy products. Upon registration, you gain access to training, technical documentation, and direct support from Sigenergy specialists. Installers also earn points when registering installations, which can be redeemed for rewards such as free products, ensuring full support for every project.
