This unit has a switch to switch off the supply from the DC side. There is also a Surge Protection Device (SPD) and various connection possibilities. Connection can be via RS485, Ethernet or wifi. For a wifi connection a separate antenna is needed. SetApp is also available for this inverter, making commissioning and monitoring quick and easy. ## Communication Two RS485 ports are integrated, as well as an Ethernet connection. A separate antenna is required for wireless connection, via wifi. When this connection is established, commissioning can take place via the SetApp. The monitoring of the PV installation is also done via SetApp. This can be done at module level. ## Security Arc protection and leakage current detection are both available as standard. Arc protection registers arcs in the system. In most cases these are innocent. If an arc reaches dangerous proportions, the arc protection will be activated and the entire system will be switched off. Leakage currents, just like arcs, occur regularly. In many cases, these too are harmless. When it reaches a certain strength and a person comes into contact with the system, the device will be switched off within 20 to 40ms. The SPD offers protection against overvoltage caused by lightning strikes, for example. ## Safety unit The safety unit, to be attached to the underside of the SolarEdge 3PH Inverter, 30kW, comes with a DC switch. This can be used to de-energize the entire circuit. A two-pole decoupling ensures that both the neutral and the phase wire are interrupted. ## Glands Instead of MC4 connectors, this type has glands. These screw glands are used to connect cables on the inside of an inverter to a terminal block with screw connections.
