Solar Fabrik Mono S3 370 W Half-Cut Zebra is a monocrystalline module, with a capacity of 370 Watt peak. The panel uses the Half-Cut technology, which means that it does not contain 60 cells, but 120 cells. The panels are free of PID, partly due to the proven ammonia and salt fog resistance.
Half-Cut technology
Half-Cut technology means that solar cells have been halved by using cutting lasers. In terms of direct power, this does not yield any profit. The cells are half the size but there are twice as many. A positive aspect of this is that due to the smaller surface area per cell, they experience less resistance, because power per cell has to bridge a shorter distance. As a result, the Solar Fabrik Mono S3 370 W Half-Cut Zebra achieves higher efficiency. An additional advantage is that in case of shade, a larger part of the solar panel will fully function. This is because the whole can be adjusted more precisely and less surface area needs to be sacrificed in the case of partial shading.
PID-free
Various tests are carried out both during and after production. Inspection services issue certificates for this. All Solar Fabrik modules have successfully passed these tests. Some of these tests relate to ammonia and salt spray resistance. Due to the different materials - the frame, the glass and the solar cells themselves - voltage differences can arise, which can lead to leakage currents. These leakage currents, combined with, for example, salt accumulations, cause power loss and possible damage to the solar cells. Due to their resistance to ammonia and salt fog, for example, these Solar Fabrik Mono S3 370 W Half-Cut Zebra panels are PID, or Potential Induced Degradation-free.
