The SolarEdge P505 power optimizer is ideal for residential installations and supports bifacial and other high-power solar panels. The power optimizer has a nominal DC input power of 505W (nominal STC) and 83VDC maximum input voltage with an Isc of 17A.
Ideal for PV systems
The P505 offers a solution for the growing demand of these solar panels, such as the Sunpower 96 cells and LG 395. The optimizer has a new curved bracket; this allows the optimizer to be installed under the panels while maintaining the required free space. . The optimizer supports panels with very high currents and is suitable for 277 / 480V Grid installations.
For the 277 / 480V grid, it is allowed to install up to 15,000 per string when the maximum power difference between each string is 2.
Compatibility
This Power optimizer from SolarEdge is specially made to work with SolarEdge inverters. The optimizers ensure a smarter PV installation. Using the optimizers, the performance is communicated to the SolarEdge monitoring platform. This creates a clear picture of the energy generated by the PV system.
Optimization
The optimizers use special optimization technology. This eliminates all types of mis-match losses, shadows and production tolerances. Because each individual panel has an optimizer with its own MPP tracker, an even higher yield is achieved and the panels can even be installed in multiple orientations.
It is not possible to combine the P404 / P505 / P405 / P485 with the P370 / P401 / P500 / P600 / P650 / P730 / P801 / P800 / P850 / P950 in a string.
