DC Surge Protection Module Kit is a DC surge protection (type II) adaptor kit for the Sunny Tripower Core1 (STP 50-40). DC surge protection is necessary to protect electrical equipment against voltage surges. Also called overvoltage and lightning is a well-known example of this. However, overvoltage protection creates potential equalisation which leads to neutralisation of the voltage differences. As a result, all connected solar panels and inverters remain undamaged. Type II only protects in the event of indirect lightning strikes.
