MC4 connectors are single-contact electrical connectors. MC4 connectors are the standard in today's solar energy market and have been used on almost all solar panels since 2011. MC in MC4 stands for Multi-Contact, now known as Stäubli Electrical Connectors. The 4 stands for the 4mm diameter of the contact pin. The convenience of MC4 connectors lies in their ease of manual coupling. This is very simple thanks to the snap-in-lock design, or in other words, an integrated plug-in connector. It is extremely suitable for connecting solar panels in a string.
