Sign in or request an accountThe SMA 3PH EV Charger 10 is a charger for electric vehicles. It can effortlessly be integrated in existing PV installations as well as be placed in new systems. The charger is cost effective, has PV boost available, automatic phase switching and ‘overload protection’. Together with the Sunny Home Manager 2.0 and the Energy App, there are many options of setting the system up exactly as desired.
Conventional chargers don’t utilize small solar capacities, for instance during early morning and evening hours. This is because of the standardized minimum charging power of electric vehicles. This charger optimizes the use of this energy as low as 1.3kW.
The SMA 3PH EV Charger 10 uses a combination of grid and solar power to charge through single-phase up to 7.4kW, which is almost twice as fast as conventional charging stations.
This switching allows for maximum use of the available power by starting with single phase charge up to 7.4kW, then switching to three phase charging for larger solar capacities.
This safety feature protects the main house connection from an overload. When several appliances are operating at the same time, this could potentially exceed the amount your connection can handle, overloading the system. The safety within this charger dynamically adjusts the charging power to the maximum available level.

The SMA 3PH EV Charger 10, for example, allows you to give preference to certain appliances over others or you can set a time by which you would like your car to be charged by and the process will start automatically.
